According to the latest surveys made by Architecture Journal and by building.co.uk here you can find the ranking of the top UK architecture firms, measured by the number of qualified architects employed and turnover.

This rankings offer a timely snapshot of the profession in the UK over the previous calendar year and measure the level of optimism among practices for the year to come.

The surveys rely upon UK firms completing and returning the annual forms to AJ and building.co.uk. For different reasons firms sometimes decide not to take part, this is why the top UK architecture firms rankings are slightly different.

With more than 350 chartered architects (corporate member of at least one amongst the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Royal Society of Ulster Architects and the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland), 1,064 employees, (total fees income) and 11 worldwide offices, Foster + Partners is the leading UK architecture firm.

At the first place for Worldwide fees income ranking (amongst the UK based firms) is HOK with £317.2m (£17.7m in the UK) followed by Perkins+Will with £176.0m and Foster + Partners with a turnover of £164.3m

BDP is even the most active architecture firm in the UK with £41,7m (of 53,4) earned for UK projects followed by Allies and Morrison and Allford Hall Monaghan Morris.

ECE Architecture with 42 chartered architects and an increase of 19 employees is the firm that climbed the ranking more than any other (from the 39th place to the 30th).

bptw partnership has been named ‘Fastest Growing Practice of the Year’ having jumped an incredible 40 places to no.45 by AJ100 Architecture Journal

The two firms we visited during our latest London architecture and design educational tour, TP Bennett and AECOM, are alive and kicking among the top UK architecture firms, both within the first 15 places in both rankings.
