Performance is the theme of next INSIDE World Festival of Interiors

INSIDE World Festival of Interiors has today announced its seminar programme centred around the theme of ‘Performance’.

Held in Berlin from 15–17 November in company with World Architecture Festival, INSIDE World Festival of Interiors is where the global design community meets to be inspired by the latest and greatest in global interior design and architecture. Over three days INSIDE shines a spotlight on the people, projects and developments that are changing the face of global interiors. At INSIDE’s heart is a global awards programme, which will be judged by more than 20 distinguished designers and editors from around the world. Finalists that are shortlisted across nine categories will present their project in person to international judging panels. After a hard-fought battle, one practice will win the ultimate accolade of World Interior of the Year, which will be presented at a Gala Dinner awards ceremony on the evening of Friday 17 November.

Conference sessions will explore how the individual relates to interior space and how material, colour, light and sound contribute to creating high-performing interiors for users and sometimes audiences. The international roster of speakers will explore a range of topics, including the role of technology and innovative materials in transforming how we engage and interact with interior spaces.Shanwei Weng of AN Design, winner of the 2016 World Interior of the Year award for their Black Cant System, a contemporary Chinese fashion concept store, commented: “Performance in its varied forms is constantly changing, adapting, connecting and blurring boundaries. Novembre’s eclectic portfolio ranges from the interior design of football club AC Milan’s HQ to retail design for high-end fashion brands including the Stuart Weitzman store in Rome. At 2017’s edition of INSIDE World Festival of Interiors, Novembre will discuss the fluidity between art, architecture, design and fashion in his work.

As well as the seminar programme for this year’s event, delegates will also have access to live presentations to judges of designs shortlisted for this year’s INSIDE awards. The overall winner of the World Interior of the Year will be announced at an exclusive gala dinner on 17 November.

About the Author:

After thirteen years as Communications Manager for Valcucine, as well as a two-year stint at Driade, I felt the need to launch something fresh and original in the design and architecture world. A showroom, a trade fair or an advertisement are not enough to understand a brand, its underlying philosophies, and how it undergoes its product development, so I wanted to create a new way of connecting architects and interior designers with top design companies. Here I write news about architecture, interior design, industrial design, cultural heritage and our design and architecture tours.
